Brutal Ride,

Hadda "push-start" the beast again this morning.....
From Kansas City the first 200 miles are bone-rattling !
24 degrees get-go, not counting the 80 mph wind-chill.
discovered a magic temp at 37' F where it became tolerable....
(that was found @ 200 miles into the highway)
wonder if they call it "hypothermia" in these parts ?
got a pretty fair shake going there . . . .
was impossible to operate the camera...
thawing nicely near Fort Smith, Arkansas now....
the pool is kept right at 100' degrees was told....
What's the temp at your driveway today ?

Last of the Headrig

Touted as the "Largest" Sitka Spruce I had to think meybe as in "the last one standing", Boo Boo Ihde told me a month ago that somebody's should've documented the one's we used to reject at the mill - they were too big for the "headrig" saw so we turned em out in the parking lot for firewood free-for-alls... might venture we saw larger then but today this may very well be the last.... still standing. Choices

sights sounds smells....
the last 2 in this collage are interesting... one building has an air-conditioning unit installed high up on this wall... and only 1 . . ? wondering why ? 1 soul in the whole blding ?? - another odd is a wall at Pike Place Market with thousands of "chewed" bubble gums making up for the surface.. Posted by Picasa

Wild vrs "Natural" is it ??

There it is... the fish on ice in Seattle's China town market... farmed salmon touted as "natural" leaves a question in my mind...
they do a great display in this store... variety not found often, throughout... endless choices. Posted by Picasa

EXPO 2005

Upscale merchants selling gizmo's and gadgets to fishermen dressed in suits... not like the old days of going to the gear store for a new sounder.... this 1 room venture took most of a day.
rather commercialized attitude with sales pitches and tricks to lure us in... not all but some.. freebee's were fewer too.
might I asumpt a differing opinion had I made the dinner party the previous night ? meybe. security even told me no cameras ?? -
who are all these new fishermen wearing business suits today ? can the "little guy" make it in todays theme of "fisherman" ? Posted by Picasa

the Hurdy-Gurdy man....

Walking past a Thrift shop I heard music from within... an old piano brought to life by this man... an extremely lively melody blending classics and pop... impromptu style... although the sign reads "as-is" , this moment was "priceless'... am wishing I could play the movie for you here... smiles were on everyone. Posted by Picasa
