All cept Loran... converted

... "work" photos... Used to be we'd make sketchings onto a bar napkin, we fisherman design and discuss options and variables as maintenance is never done... here we see some great ideas and some hidden blunders even though it looks good... what's complicated or simple... is our business at morning coffee in the office....Posted by Picasa

Homeward Observations

No new tribes to discover but notice interesting patterns of my brethren swarming amoungst me..... Santa hats with cellphones glued into the fuzzy rims, harried rush of the freeways and hallways towards setting a foot upon an escalator at the Xmas Bazaar and all motion SToPs ! take the free ride... no hurry once upon an escalator... I find this rather curious.. ?
Xmas falls on a Sunday this year & the news acclaims 79% of the Nations Churches will hold NO Sunday services due to Christmas... ? huh ?
I don't "get it"... ? cept for those facilities affected by Katrina in the south are excused due to the wrath of..... ! this amuses meself...
Do hope Heaven is not serviced by an escalator.

Days are now getting longer... !
Happy Solstice everyone ;) Posted by Picasa

Slogan of... a mess

A true "castle" on a hill appropriately named;
........ "Castle Hill"...
moats all around prevent a proper photograph...

(but I tried).
lv'in here tomorrow... ditchin the bike - another wet system on the way from California...
this'll be a good place to return to...
went "all out" on dinner tonight (again) at a premier seafood joint, they didn't know diddly bout salmon... ! but they are interested.

Scoot Scoot Limp...

Near as I can figure - that's how to do a Texas 2-step....
not much to report little sister.. but you need to know,
Dinner at Alice's was interesting... music was good.
Sleet and cool still... took a taxi 10 minutes down the road to a club.. appears the meters are rigged to the gas line... $29 there and $25 back.
The club was BIG tho, 8 distinct areas from a gambling hall to caged dancers to biker bar, karaoke, table top dancin, live loud band area and a large C&W swing floor... beers were a buck ! (long-necks they call em).... Posted by Picasa

Reflections of Austin

Tried to get a better photo of the Capital Bldg but was run off from outside the driveway barrier by a cop yelling at me ... ? Had I persisted to take a picture might he even pointed his obvious firearm at me ?? That building certainly does not belong to "we the people".....
That little purple painted structure is MUCH friendlier. Posted by Picasa

beach house, fishing and streeeeetch hummer

Low temperatures in Texas they say are averaging 30 degrees below average,
more than 800 accidents in Austin yesterday alone... 800 !! fender-benders and rollovers, ice everywhere... 6 hour one-way commutes home... I am camped. weekly rate.
there seem to be an unsual number of stretch limo's around here too... some I can imagine physics with steel is a bit stretched as I see a few un-naturally long... I'd hate to have to drive one... (but pay me enough and).....
fresh quality seafood is easily found here ... pass a few co-op cards around.... Posted by Picasa

Corsicana.....

....... Is that a plant ?
Another chilly ride....
this morning someone said "that don't sound fun"
and I'll digress it really ain't !

3rd "All you can eat"
. . . dinner in a row tonight !
washing it down with the only quality brew I can find... (hey - it's in a bottle) ! can understand why much of the population here is "big" ! what tis lacking in quality of diet - (no fresh wild salmon anywhere) they make up in mas quantity's of assorted "raised" meat.

Saw a terrible wreck right in front of me where a small sedan got caught under wheels of an 18 wheeler . . not pretty, that was just as the traffic was getting some sense of "sanity" after the madness of Dallas's Expressway, cars really do bounce like basketballs... felt like I should cry or something about 15 minutes further down the hiway....
no "delete" function to erase that picture once taken .... sad.
the "flow" is too fast there and seems the big rigs own the center lane.

Yuk A Hay . . . it's December & it oughta be snowing Posted by Picasa
